ServiceLedger Version 14 New Functions and Features:
ServiceLedger 2014 has been greatly enhanced for improved performance across the board in addition to new functionality and features added. Most importantly, ServiceLedger 2014 fully supports Windows 8.1, QuickBooks 2014 and Sage50 2014. One of the biggest single improvements in ServiceLedger 2014 is the reporting aspect with several dozen new reports and completely re-vamped reports across the entire application.
Microsoft Windows 8.1 Support- ServiceLedger 2014 is the only version of ServiceLedger that fully supports Microsoft Windows 8.1.
- Updated Crystal Report Viewer to support Windows 8.1 to run and/or print reports.
- Updated support to restore emailing of reports on Windows 8.1.
- Fixed many reported issues as a result of Windows 8.1.
- ServiceLedger 2014 has been fully tested to support QuickBooks 2014 and earlier versions.
- ServiceLedger 2014 has been fully tested to support Sage50 2014 and earlier versions.
- ServiceLedger has released its first version of its DirectRoute integration that provides exporting of job data to DirectRoute with DirectRoute sending back job time, travel time, etc. back to the job.
- All GPS tracking is done via the DirectRoute service.
- Performance enhancements across the entire application to better support very large data sets, large custom field data and/or large concurrent active user logins.
- Various clean-up of harmless error messages providing specific error reason instead of an ugly default message.
- 360 degree reporting allowing you to see the same data from multiple views including customer, job, tech, sales rep, item, territory, marketing source, etc.
- More ability to see detail in addition to summary information on reports.
- Over three dozen new reports added in addition to updating all existing reports.
- Ability to record deposits in ServiceLedger for tracking purposes only.
- Deposit reports allows you to report on daily deposits
- Better tracking of refunds with a refund record to record details of refund
- Refund reporting added to report on refunds
- No longer do refunds get lost in a vacuum via the Record as Refund button
- Refunds will still need to be manually addressed in accounting system
- This functionality now supports multiple data sources including ServiceChannel, BigSky, PDF’s and/or direct email.
- Added ability to have different text templates used for different message types.
- Added a bill-to email address to customer records.
- Ability to add attachments like job form to invoices being emailed to customer.
- Ability to consolidate multiple invoices to a single statement being emailed to a customer.
- Ability to add attachments from jobs along with the job form.
- Updated performance enhancements to support large datasets and/or large number of concurrent users in system creating deadlocks, timeouts, etc.
- Added ability to add job attachments along with the job when emailed.
- Added dozens of new custom options to change job behavior for different industries and/or different purposes.
- Option added that only allows technicians to pull inventory from their trucks (not allowing them to pull inventory from other inventory locations).
- Ability to send invoices with multiple line items on a contract
- Added ability to have a default resource per customer and/or customer location record.
- Enhanced performance to better support instances of high volumes of job status updates creating deadlocks during scheduling activity
- Updated maintenance procedure to not run as often as it was when large number of users are concurrently logging in potentially creating various errors
- Implemented contact-based customer search.

Added optional equipment/serialized inventory integration. This feature allows you to tie equipment records to serialized items, changing the customer and location information on the equipment windows as you buy and sell those serialized pieces of equipment. Contact ServiceLedger support for additional information. See the following option:
- inventory.serialized_equipment.enable - Re-enabled support for user-defined alternating row colors: see the 'general.default.grid_alternating_color' option.
- Ability to archive attachments in situations where your attachment database is getting too large.
- Ability to preserve, edit and add notes related to attachments
- The attachment glyphs on window toolbars now refresh imediately to indicate whether anything is attached when attachments are added or removed.
- Deleting attachments is now guarded by a prompt.
- Ability to categorize attachments.
- New Batch Print Window that provides various options of filtering the lists to only print the invoices ready to be printed.
- Batch Invoice Window – ability to use default bill-to email address instead of main address
- Batch Statement Window – ability to use default bill-to email address instead of main address
- Batch Equipment Window – will now set the sales date of the record to the invoice date – not the date the equipment record was created via the window.
- Lists will no longer lose filtered settings on background refreshes
- Background refreshes will no longer prevent ServiceLedger from closing
- Multiple background refreshes while transactions are posting in the background will no longer create errors
- Now tracks time by job and travel time
- Provided better refresh options to keep timesheet refreshed at all times
- Updated Timesheet report to show job and travel time
- Can now be edited up to the point of being applied
- Updated ServiceLedger across the board to ignore inactive records where relevant – for example ignore inactive customer locations when creating jobs, estimates, invoices, etc. for the customer.
- PM Scheduler has been enhanced to allow multiple users to have access to the PM Scheduler at the same time without deadlocks.
- Added the ability to consolidate schedules for multiple tasks consolidated onto one job into a single schedule not associated with any of those tasks via the 'equipment_schedule.consolidate_schedules' option.

Added a note column that can be placed in the summary, request, and/or note fields on new jobs via the following options:
equipment_schedule.note_in_summary
equipment_schedule.note_in_request
equipment_schedule.note_in_crew_note
By default, the note is placed only in the request field; however, you can enable any combination of these options. - Updated the scheduling note option to allow completely blank text (e.g.) if the option is set to "-".
- Rows are no longer checked by default. This change eliminates the prior behavior of checking rows by default based on their contract status, which was assumed to be "Active" for all equipment that was not associated with a contract. The old behavior can be restored via the option: 'equipment_schedule.auto_check_active'.
- Adjusted the date column so that it would be editable when posting PMs.
- The PM Scheduler window will now remember the last selected consolidation option.
- The PM Scheduler will now update the list in place if a task that was checked or otherwise changed in the PM Scheduler is changed outside of the window. An icon indicates that the record in the PM scheduler is no longer up-to-date.
- The text that is placed on work orders generated by the PM scheduler can now be controlled by the option: 'equipment_schedule.ticket_summary_text'.
- Redesigned the PM Scheduler grid to allow access to more information, allow and save choice of columns, and improve sorting / filtering capabilities.
- Added the ability to show job subtotals and totals via the [WOSubTotal] and [WOTotal] terms in Job text on the scheduling preferences window. These are slow terms and are not recommended for schedules containing a large number of jobs.
- Added the ability to use dispatch actions from other scheduling views. The Dispatch icon on the schedule toolbar can be used to show the dispatch panel.
- Adjusted the Confirm Call action on the dispatch board to automatically stamp confirmation notes to the job's internal notes field. If desired, this behavior can be disabled; see option 'dispatch.stamp_confirm_notes'.
- Added support for copy/paste on chart schedule.
- Improved speed of refreshing the schedule.
